Bozeman, Mont.—Members of the Bozeman Tea Party have lined up a series of speakers to address concerned residents after a march to the Gallatin County Courthouse. Tea Party members will meet at 11:00 a.m. at the Bozeman Public Library at 626 East Main Street and march to the County Courthouse. Around 11:45 a.m. a “Budget-Cutting Ceremony” will feature a member of the tea party with a chainsaw to symbolically cut a log back to pre-George W. Bush spending levels.
Speakers for the event include House Republican Leader Scott Sales R-Bozeman, Montana Policy Institute President Carl Graham, and Tea Party Organizer Henry Kriegel. Peter O’Reilly, MD and Sherry Coffin, RN, will discuss repealing “Obamacare.” Other speakers include Cut the Budget Tea Party advocate Tom Burnett, MSU Young Americans for Liberty co-founder Nick Landeros and End the Fed local leader Trent Hancock. Bozeman Tea Party Chairman Ken Champion will lead off the event with an invocation and will later introduce candidates who share our principles and who have supported and worked with the local Tea Party. Representatives from Tea Party groups from Helena, Livingston and Big Timber will also present. Local singer Shawn Marie Aiken will lead participants in the National Anthem.
An Oath Keepers ceremony will take immediately following the rally on the courthouse steps. Others will return to the library to meet with Sens. Baucus’ and Tester’s staff, who upon learning of out intent to go to their staff offices, decided to hold “constituent meetings” at the library.
At 1:15 p.m. Tea Party members will march back to the Bozeman Public Library where staff members for Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester are scheduled to meet with constituents. Tea Party members will deliver a message to their representatives that demands immediate repeal of the recently passed health care legislation.
Tax Day Tea Parties are being held throughout the state including Billings, Great Falls, Helena, Livingston and elsewhere.
